Submission guide lines
Often, amateur and professional photographers find themselves in different towns or cities. This poses a problem of where to go for good pictures or, even what is worth taking a picture of. I want off the berm to be a place where amateur and professional alike can go and look up a place and get answers to these questions. With the help of other amateur or professional photographers, we can share this information with each other. This site is my way of giving back to the community that I have benefited from—the photographers that share their wisdom with others. But in order for it to work, I do need the help of the amateur and professional photographer community. So here are some guide lines that I have worked up for the use and participation on the site.
Guide lines
1. All information is open to everyone. If you do not want your secret spot to be revealed then do not submit it.
2. All submissions must be open to the public—no private lands or private access. This does not include parks that you have to pay for admittance, although if that is the case, please include the cost and the times of the year.
4. A link to your site or sites that would be useful.
What this site is not.
A place to gather information from other photographers for a book. I might ask for donations to help with the maintenance but am not looking to profit from other’s information. I might consider a book of my post but not others post).
How submissions are to be made to the site.
1. Send an e-mail with the information to tab(at)offtheberm.com
a. Location of site (i.e. google map, gps location, etc.?)
b. What it is (bridge, waterfall, etc.?.)
c. Include a jpeg or a link to the picture (if you send an image please make it at least 72dpi, 640pix). The picture should be representative of what a person would see.
d. General comments: When it is good to photograph and anything that you would find useful.
e. Your web site if you have one (so that you can get some recognition from it)
f. A good return e-mail address and whether you want that posted or not posted. A good e-mail is necessary before a post is made.
2. If you want to be a regular contributor send, an e-mail to req(at)offtheberm.com and I will send you a log on and password to become an author.
I hope this works out and is a useful tool for all!
